Hefty Fine For National Energy Corporation

A company that offers water heater rentals door-to-door has been hit hard for making false or misleading claims in its effort to sign up customers.
The National Energy Corporation has been ordered by the Competition Bureau of Canada to pay $7-million.
$1.5-million will go back in the form of a credit to residents in both Ontario and Quebec who signed up with the company since July 2008.
The repayment stems from an investigation into thousands of complaints filed with various provincial agencies.
