The Transportation Safety Board is investigating the crash of a helicopter which went down near Willard Lake yesterday.
Regional fire crews from the Ministry of Natural Resources rescued three people aboard the chopper.
The MNR says a fire patrol aircraft was dispatched after a radio operator noted the chopper failed to call-in its position along its flight path.
An MNR fire helicopter from Red Lake performed a hover rescue of the three people who were atop the floats of the chopper which was found upside down.
Another aircraft from Kenora was brought in to airlift the survivors to hospital in Dryden.
The downed chopper had been conducting lake surveys in the region.
