City Council has agreed to give the Dryden Food Bank total relief on
their property tax.
The Food Bank is eligible for a 100% rebate under its charitable
status.
Manager Doug McMillan says he’s grateful for the relief and notes it
couldn’t come at better time.
The Food Bank is in line to save $4,800 as a result of
Council’s decision Monday night.
The facility serves some 225-families and accepts an average of 4 to 6 new families each week.
Meantime, Riverview School joined forces with area schools last week
in the ‘Pay it Forward’ initiative.
Students, parents and staff collected over 2,000 pounds of food
for area families.
