A stop in Dryden for the Brain Injury Services of Northern Ontario.
Speaking at an open house, Supervisor Sharon Bak says their main focus is to educate caregivers or those living with a brain injury. Back says they have direct staff that will work with the client and help them with referrals to other agencies. If there are no service providers in the area, staff work with the actual people who are already connected with the client such as mental health and additions or counselling services.
When it comes to working with clients, Bak says it’s about finding a new normal for a person and help them become as independent as possible.
BISNO offers services from the Algoma area all the way to the Manitoba border.
