High School Teachers Ready For Strike Vote

High school teachers across the province are being asked for a strike mandate from their union.

The Ontario Secondary School Teachers Federation says frustration at the bargaining table is leading it to conduct strike votes with its membership.

President Harvey Bischof accuses the province of delay tactics and procedural roadblocks during the talks.

He adds nothing of substance was brought to the table in five days of recent talks.

The vote by teachers will get underway in the coming weeks and conclude by November 15th.
