It’s the first day of high school for some students in the region Wednesday.
Grade 9 students head to class in Dryden, Sioux Lookout, Red Lake and Kenora.
Education Minister Stephen Lecce admits school is a little different now and it will take time for everyone to get adjusted.
Lecce says schools will stay safe and stay open if everyone follows public health prevention measures.
“Any issues. Any symptoms. The importance of staying home and likewise getting tested, consulting medical advise. And of course adhering to the broad principles of distancing and hand hygiene.”
Lecce stresses the province will do everything and anything to keep kids safe.
Grade 12 students will return to class on Thursday and those in Grade 10 and 11 will check-in on Friday.
