A new report from the Heart and Stroke Foundation says a woman’s risk
of dying following a heart attack or stroke is higher than that for a man.
Dr. Greg Ross is the Associate Dean of Research for the Northern
Ontario School of Medicine and says its the same case in this Region but
notes overall rates are higher than the national average.
Ross says the local health care system has to consult with both levels
of government to work on prevention and the availability of services.
Ross suggests access to specialized treatment is a problem in the
North.
