The General Manager of the only Hotel, Restaurant and Bar in Pickle
Lake warns he will be forced to close if the Township doesn’t help him with
a water and sewer bill of nearly $27,000.
The Winston Motor Hotel has until Thursday to pay the bill.
Boris Kravet says the Municipality is charging him for 30-rooms and not
per occupancy and he claims its almost 4-times higher than any other business in the community.
Kravet says he has installed a water meter to prove his usage and
has also been denied a request to put in a well.
He is trying to contact a lawyer to get an injunction but has had no
success.
Kravet says he will gladly pay for his usage but notes the Town won’t
budge.
He notes the high cost of water, sewer and taxes is killing business in
the community.
