Higher Hydro Bills

Some residents in the region are concerned about higher hydro bills.
One Sioux Lookout resident, Allan Lago, is upset about having a debt retirement charge along with GST added to hydro bills.
MPP Howard Hampton’s constituency office confirms numerous residents have called to complain about the so-called tax to help pay off the debt of the former Ontario Hydro and the GST attached to it.
The Ministry of Energy is telling residents to contact Revenue Canada, regarding the GST, if they have any questions or comments.
