Highway 11/17 reopens after fatal motorcycle collision east of Thunder Bay

Highway 11/17 has reopened following a fatal motorcycle collision east of Thunder Bay.

Thunder Bay OPP say officers and emergency crews were called to Highway 11/17 near Highway 527 around 7:30 a.m. Saturday.

Police previously confirmed the crash involved multiple motorcycles and a 58-year-old woman from Sault Ste. Marie was pronounced dead at the scene.

The highway was closed for several hours between Highway 527 and MacGregor Road while police investigated.

The OPP Traffic Incident Management Enforcement team assisted with the investigation.

Police are thanking the public for their patience during the closure.
