Couchiching First Nation’s protest over its grievances with the Federal and Provincial Governments is going to continue.
Residents still plan on setting up a toll booth Firday on Highway 11 to increase the pressure.
Couchiching has long-standing concerns about contaminated reserve land and compensation for land they surrendered.
They say if there isn’t some sort of agreement by noon Friday, the band plans to erect a toll booth on Highway 11 near the west end of the Noden Causeway.
Thunder Bay-Rainy River MP John Rafferty says the Band plans on charging each car a loonie to pass and commercial vehicles $10.
Rafferty is urging the Federal Government to get involved immediately.
