A fatal collision has forced the closure of Highway 17 near Vermilion Bay.
Provincial Police are releasing few details, noting the crash occurred within the last hour. (story posted 8:02)
Police say two vehicles were involved and there was at least one fatality.
Officers are on scene and the Trans-Canada has been closed west of Vermilion Bay. Traffic is being stopped west of Dryden and East of Kenora.
Westbound traffic from Dryden is being advised to detour via Fort Frances highway. Eastbound traffic from Kenora is being advised to detour via Sioux Narrows. Police advise highway could be closed most of the night
