Highway Accident

A collision between two semi-tractor trailor units on Highway 17 east of Kenora has sent one truck driver to hospital in Winnipeg with serious injuries.

The O.P.P. say the collision took place yesterday near Dogtooth Lake, when an eastbound semi entered the westbound lane and clipped an on-coming tractor-trailor unit.

The driver of the eastbound truck lost control of his rig
and ended up in the ditch and hit a rock cut. The driver, a
58 year old B.C. resident was initially taken to Lake of the Woods District Hospital in Kenora before being transferred to the Winnipeg Health Sciences Center.

The O.P.P. say the other driver, a 37 year old Ontario resident was not injured and his truck sustained only minor damage.
