Another major traffic detour in the region this morning.
2 large sink holes on highway 17 near Revel River, 40 KM west of Ignace developed last nite & it could be late this afternoon before MTO crews can make the necessary repairs.
OPP are re-routing vehicles at Shabaqua down highway 11 heading east or west bound at highway 71 east of Kenora.
If you are between those points, you can also take 502 from Dryden then hit highway 11 heading east or west.
A small car hit the holes around 10:30 & totaled the rims & tires on the right side, while a rig lost control after hitting the craters & rolled into the river but the driver suffered only minor injuries.
Several washouts are also reported on Highway 594.
The road is open, however extreme caution is urged!
