Historic Hotel in Nipigon Burns to the Ground

The Historic Normandie Hotel and Restaurant is now a heap of rubble.
OPP were called to the Front Street building in Nipigon early Saturday morning.
The Hotel was destroyed as well as two adjacent homes.
No one was staying at the hotel, as it has not opened for the summer season.
The cause of the Fire has not yet been determined, and the Investigation continues.
Last weekend, a fire destroyed the Dorion Inn just a 30-minute drive away.
