For the first time ever, Dryden will host Pride Day activities on Saturday.
Opening ceremonies are planned for noon at City Hall, with a Pride March to Cooper Park at 1:00pm.
There will entertainment, events, activities and food vendors for Pride in the Park from 1:30pm until 4:30pm.
Chair of the Dryden Pride Committee Catherine Kiewning says the event will focus on accepting various LGBT identities.
Guest speakers are expected to include Kenora MP Bob Nault and Kenora-Rainy River MPP Sarah Campbell as well as Dryden Chief Administrative Officer Ernie Remillard.
Kiewning says Pride Day is all about education, supporting the LGBT population in the community and promoting the importance of “being who you are”.
There will also be a fundraising concert at the Patricia Inn on Friday night.
