HNO Honours Its Best For 2015-2016

A couple of local referees have been recognized by Hockey Northwestern Ontario.

HNO has handed out its year-end awards and Dryden’s Brent Pollard received the Most Improved Official Award.

Kenora’s Tom Zilinski was named the Most Deserving Official.

The West Zone Volunteer Award went to Chris Lawson of Lac Seul.

The highest honour was bestowed on Thunder Bay’s J.P. Heino as he received the T.B. (Bones) McCormack Meritorious Award.

Heino has been involved in hockey for 30-years, and helped start the Superior International Junior Hockey League and bringing Senior ‘AAA’ hockey back to the area in the mid 2000’s
