Homecoming Weekend a Busy One for Police

The first weekend of Centennial celebrations was a busy one for Dryden Police.
Officers received 100-calls for service over a 3-day period, with 24-traffic and liquor related tickets being issued.
Police stopped a speeding vehicle on Grand Trunk Avenue after it failed to stop for a light on Cecil.
The driver was drinking and failed a road side test and the 27-year-old man was charged.
Police also stopped a northbound vehicle on Colonization Avenue that officers believed eluded a RIDE program earlier in the day.
The 20-year-old was under the influence of a drug and he was charged with impaired driving and possession of a controlled substance.
