Homes For Aged Increase

Dryden City Council wanted to know the reasons behind a raise in long term care fees, now they have their answer.
The Administrator of long term care homes in Dryden, Red Lake and Kenora is seeking another $700,000 from municipalities.
Kevin Queen says the 45% increase is due to underfunding by the province and to keep pace with the increased cost of operations.
Queen adds that more increases will be on the way when the 45 new beds are opened next year in Dryden and Red Lake.
Earlier this week, Dryden Council stated the levy forced officials to re-evaluate the budget which is complete and scheduled to be released in March.
