The Town of Ear Falls and the OPP have honoured a fallen officer.
Birch Drive Park has been renamed Calvin R. Fulford Memorial Park in
memory of the OPP Constable.
Fulford died in the line of duty on Christmas morning in 1958.
The Constable was called to an area known as ‘Little Canada’, after a man
had shot a newly married couple and his own father with a hunting rifle.
The man then overtook Constable Fulford, who was 28 at the time, and
used the officers own revolver to deliver a fatal head wound.
The Town and OPP say Fulford was a hero and they were proud to honour
him this way.
