Ontario’s NDP leader is vowing to press the government for ways of keeping small schools open.
Speaking to teachers gathered in Toronto, Andrea Horwath says services like health clinics, child care centres and seniors services could take over empty classrooms.
Horwath says schools are key hubs to many communities.
She adds that offering options to school board gives them some flexibility in keeping schools open.
