Unifor continues to grow in northwestern Ontario.
Workers at Hoshizaki House in Dryden have voted 90% in favour of joining the union.
Unifor National Representative Stephen Boon says the support among the 15-workers in joining Canada’s largest union was overwhelming and it’s clear that they are committed to achieving the benefits and security of a solid collective agreement.
Boon adds the next step is meeting with the workers and electing a bargaining committee and developing an agenda in order to initiate negotiations for a new collective agreement.
The Hoshizaki House provides a safe and supportive home environment for women and children escaping domestic violence.
