The Dryden medical community is mourning the loss of Dr. Mark Dahmer.
The popular physician passed away on the weekend after losing his lengthy battle with cancer.
Hospital CEO Wade Petranik says this is a very difficult time for the Dryden Regional Health Centre.
Petranik says Dr. Dahmer was a remarkably strong man who put his true heart and soul into everything he was tasked with.
He adds he impacted everyone in a positive way.
Petranik says he was a courageous and selfless man who dedicated his life to serving others.
He notes Dr. Dahmer played a major role in providing essential medical services for the community including: clinic practice, emergency room coverage, in-patient and obstetrical care as well teaching and administrative leadership.
Chief of Staff Dr. Stephen Viherjoki says Dr. Dahmer was an excellent and caring physician, colleague, teacher, mentor and friend and he will be dearly missed.
Petranik says the hospital sends thoughts and prayers to wife Linda and his children Lauren, Kyla, Tessa and Joshua as well as his entire family.
Dr. Dahmer worked at the hospital for 27-years.
