Officials with the Margaret Cochenour Hospital in Red Lake meet later this week to examine the tenders submitted for a wide ranging renovation project at the facility.
The low bid was $2.9 million, about $500,000 higher than anticipated.
CEO Ken McGeorge says they have to crunch some numbers and get Provincial approval, but he is confident the project will get off the ground.
The plan includes a new nursing station, state-of-the-art emergency room and to make the facility more handi-capped accessable.
Meantime, construction of the new heli-pad is expected to be completed by month’s end.
