Howard Hampton Attacks Government

Kenora-Rainy River MPP Howard Hampton says while hundreds of laid off forestry workers go without pay, the company they worked for, benefited in more than $80-million from the Provincial Government.
In the Legislature, Hampton outlined the money received by the Buchanan Group of Companies and questioned why the company’s workers continue to sit at home without severance.
Forestry Minister Michael Gravelle says the government is working with workers effected, but didn’t say if that included forcing the company to cover the outstanding severance.
