HST and Camping Go Together

It’s going to cost a bit more to camp in a Provincial Park this Summer.
Starting July 1st, the harmonized sales tax will be tacked on to the cost of renting a camp site.
Ontario Parks Spokesperson Bruce Van Stall Dinen says they don’t think the extra tax will impact reservations.
The cost to rent a camp site ranges from $25 to $40.
The extra tax could mean an extra $1.60-$3 on the final total.
