Kenora-Rainy River MPP Howard Hampton says it would be a big mistake for the government to sell off Ontario’s hydro transmission system.
The province is considering a sale of Hydro One for an estimated 5.5-billion dollars.
Hampton says the development of new information transmission technologies could make the Hydron network worth a lot more.
The NDP Leader was in Sudbury last night where Energy Minister Chris Stockwell was a no-show for a public hearing on the sale of Hyrdo One.
The minister couldn’t make it because of landing-gear problems with his chartered plane.
The hearing will be rescheduled.
