Municipal fire crews in two communities had to deal with hydro pole fires Thursday night.
In Balmertown a newly installed pole caught fire around 6:30.
Witnesses say they heard three large booms with huge flashes of light when it happened.
Dryden Fire also responded to a similar incident near Safeway.
A number of personnel were on scene and traffic was closed in the area.
No major problems were reported in both incidents.
