I Am Awesome Retreat Receives $45,000

A major cash injection for a regional program for young women.
Program Coordinator Renee Martin-Brown says they have received $45,000 from the Aviva Fund.
She says the money will be used to promote the program across the region as well as hire more staff and presenters for the weekend retreat.
Last year, 19 girls from across the region attended a weekend conference in Nestor Falls.
Three were from Red Lake and one was from Dryden.
Martin-Brown says their goal this year is to bring as many as 75 girls together for the self esteem and empowerment retreat.
