The Dryden Ice Dogs have granted Real Assie’s request to a trade.
The popular forward wanted to play closer to home and Head Coach
Larry Wintoneak has dealt him to the Humboldt Broncos of the Saskatchewan
Junior Hockey League in return for physical Defenceman Ryan Cox and future considerations.
The Ice Dogs also acquired the rights to 20-year-old Forward Scott
Kline from Melville, Saskatchewan.
The SIJHL campaign is only a week away and Dryden is working on the fine details in preparation for the big day.
The Ice Dogs are now holding two-a-day practices, with special teams
and conditioning the main focus right now.
Wintoneak says this year’s club will be fast.
Dryden opens at home against the Fort William North Stars.
