The Dryden GM Ice Dogs and Fort Frances Lakers will pause to remember and recognize the Humboldt Broncos hockey team tomorrow (Sunday) afternoon.
Canadian hockey fans are reeling from the shock of a horrific crash in Saskatchewan involving the Broncos team bus and a semi-transport truck Friday evening.
Fifteen members of the Humboldt Broncos were killed including the Team Captain, numerous players, the Head Coach, a volunteer statistician and the play-by-play announcer for the Humboldt radio station. 14 others were hospitalized.
The Ice Dogs and Lakers meet in game 5 of the SIJHL Semi-Finals at 4 pm at the Dryden Memorial Arena and a ceremony is planned before the game gets underway.
Fans and spectators are being asked to wear green to the game.
Doors open at 3. The Ice Dogs lead the series 3 games to 1
