The Dryden GM Ice Dogs offence was firing on all cylinders Friday night as they cruised to a 7-1 victory over the Minnesota Iron Rangers in a chippy affair at the ‘Dog Pound’.
The Dogs scored four times in the second period to blow the game open and didn’t keep their foot off the gas pedal.
Blake Berg, Cole Golka, Jonathan Philley, Nick Etcheson, Troy Williams, Nick Prouty and Zac Schlitt all found the back of the net.
Tate Sproxton had a relatively quiet night making 27-saves as he was anchored by a suffocating defence.
Dryden GM scored three short-handed goals and a power-play marker.
Meanwhile, the English River Miners showcased a stingy defence and a hot goalie in a 2-1 win in Thunder Bay.
Layne Anderson and Alex Maticic scored for the Miners while P.D. Melgoza made 47-saves for the victory.
English River meets the Ice Dogs in Dryden Saturday night at 7:30.
