Ice Dogs And Miners In Home-And-Home Series

The Dryden GM Ice Dogs and English River Miners begin a home-and-home series Friday night.

The first game is at the Dryden Memorial Arena, with the Miners two points behind the second place Ice Dogs.

English River has lost two games this season, both coming against the Ice Dogs.

Miners Coach Derek Sweet-Coulter says to change their success, they need to be successful on the power-play and stay out of the penalty box.

He adds Dryden GM has a fast team, so they can’t make mistakes in their own zone.

Ice Dogs Coach Kurt Walsten says he will be looking for his forwards to come back and help out in the defensive zone

Walsten notes his players are starting to buy into the teams system.

Game time is 7:30.

The second game of the series is Saturday night in Red Lake.

CKDR will have that game with the pre-game show at 7:15.

Meantime, two struggling teams collide in Fort Frances Friday night as the Lakers host the Minnesota Iron Rangers.
