There will be a number of familiar faces on the ice when the Dryden GM Ice Dogs open training camp next Friday.
The reigning two time Bill Salonen Cup champions have announced that Eric Stout, Evan Walls, Malcolm Huemmert, Reid Manning, Connor Mowatt, Graham Oliphant and Trey Palermo are returning to the team.
President Mike Sveinson says the team is thrilled with their returning core of players, stressing they have an incredibly strong nucleus for this stage of the game.
Stout is a three year veteran with Dryden GM and he says his focus for the upcoming season is clear and that’s to win the league and the Dudley Hewitt Cup.
Stout adds he not only wants to play in the Royal Bank Cup, but to win it.
Walls says with last year’s unfortunate end in the Dudley-Hewitt Cup finals, he’s hoping to help the team make their way back to that game and ultimately win it and go to the Royal Bank Cup.
The second year player says he’s hoping to step in as a leader this year and do whatever he can to contribute to the team’s success.
Walls adds he can’t wait to get back to Dryden and start the season up.
