The Dryden GM Ice Dogs picked up a single point to secure sole possession of first place in the SIJHL standings but dropped a 6-5 decision to visiting Fort Frances Friday night.
The Ice Dogs had a 5-3 lead but suffered with only 14 players on the ice late in the game as the Lakers mounted a comeback.
Trey Palermo led the Dryden attack with a pair of goals, while Braedyn Aubin, Jacen Bracko and Taylor Buscis added singles.
However, the Ice Dogs received some help as the English River Miners dismantled Thunder Bay 5-2.
Jamie Driedger was the difference in the game with the hat-trick, while Michael Lenko made 34-saves for the victory.
Trevor Perezerzoff amind Austin Kuhn added singles.
English River and Thunder Bay will renew their rivalry Saturday night.
