A young Dryden Ice Dogs club now has a taste of playoff hockey.
Dennis Morrison’s goal midway through the third period was the difference as the Borderland Thunder edged the Ice Dogs 3-1 Thursday night in Fort Frances.
Josh McAndrew opened the scoring for the Thunder in the first, while Cory Smith replied in the second for Dryden.
Kurt Hogard iced the game with an empty net goal at the end.
Shawn Szachury was back in between the pipes for Dryden and made 32 saves in a losing cause.
Dryden will try and even the best of 7 Semi-Final Saturday afternoon as they return to Fort Frances.
