A four point weekend for the Dryden Ice Dogs.
The Ice Dogs took 2 of 3 games on the weekend to open another SIJHL season.
The Ice Dogs snuck past the expansion English River Miners 4-2 Friday thanks to a goal from Drew Decker with 1:04 left to play in the game.
Dryden went on to defeat the Wisconsin Wilderness 4-1 on Saturday night.
The winning streak was snapped Sunday with a 6-3 loss to the Wilderness.
Tyson Holder, Mack Boyce and Zach Kercz scored for Dryden.
Head Coach Paul MacLean says all in all it was a good weekend.
MacLean says the team is still gelling and didn’t have a taste of game action until this weekend.
The Ice Dogs are back on home ice Wednesday against Fort Frances.
In other SIJHL action on the weekend, the Fort Frances Lakers downed the English River Miners 12-2 Saturday night in Fort Frances.
