They needed some extra time but the Dryden Ice Dogs pulled out a 5-4 win over the Iron Range Iron Heads on the road Wednesday.
Dryden fell behind early, spotting the Iron Heads a 3-0 lead.
The Dogs stormed back with goals from Chris Belhumer, Thomas Greene, Bryce Maggrah and Dan Morin.
Tyson Holder finally ended it early in overtime.
Dryden fired 60-shots on the Iron Range net, while Dean Shepherdson made 35-saves.
The re-match is tonight. (Thursday)
