Ice Dogs Headed Back To SIJHL Championship

The Dryden GM Ice Dogs are going back to the Bill Salonen Cup.

Kyle Pouncy scored his first of the playoffs with 6:20 to go in a tied hockey game and Tanner Watt scored his first to add some insurance as the Ice Dogs pulled out a hard earned 5-3 win Tuesday in Thunder Bay to win their SIJHL Semi-Final in 6 games.

Nathan Avery powered the Dryden GM attack with 2-goals and 1-assist.

Braeden Allkins also found the back of the net.

Troy Pierce was the surprise starter and he finished with 24-saves.

Dryden peppered 42-shots on Riley Corbin.

The win sets up a rematch between the Ice Dogs and Fort Frances Lakers.

The Lakers swept their Semi-Final series against English River.

The final is tentatively set to start on Thursday in Fort Ftances.
