It was a defensive struggle at the Dog Pound last night and when the dust settled the Borderland Thunder skated away with a 2-0 win over the Dryden Ice Dogs.
Dryden peppered 33-shots on Sioux Lookout resident Tyler Gordan, but in the end couldn’t solve the hot Thunder goaltender
Tyler Barker scored both goals for the Borderland, one in an empty net.
Despite being roughed up between the pipes, Kevin Kaulk made 24 saves for the Ice Dogs.
Dryden will take some time off to re-group before heading to Fort Frances for a rematch next Tuesday.
