Ice Dogs Lose In Thunder Bay

The Dryden Ice Dogs first trip to Thunder Bay didn’t come out as they had planned as they fell 4-1 to the Thunder Bay Bearcats Friday night at the Fort William First Nations Arena. The Ice Dogs tied the game at 1 with just over 5 minutes left in the 1st but the Bearcats would get the winner in the last minute of the period before adding 2 more in the second. Chad Liley scored Dryden’s lone goal while Sonny Albert faced a barrage of shots for the loss between the pipes. The Ice Dogs and Bearcats will do it again tonight and CKDR will have the call with the pre-game show starting at 6:15 Central time.

In other SIJHL play, the Sioux Lookout Flyers dropped a 7-2 decision in Fort Frances.

Ian Alcock and Spencer Gyori scored for the Flyers.

The Fort William North Stars downed Schreiber 4-1.
