A couple of key signings for the Dryden Ice Dogs.
The Dogs have inked 20-year-old defenceman Patrick Murphy.
Murphy played for the Windsor Spitfires of the Ontario Hockey League in 2009 and is a Sutherland cup champion.
The 5’10, 175-pound defenceman also received the Mickey Renaud Memorial Award for hockey excellence in Essex county in 2008.
General Manager Brad Boyko says Murphy is a great addition and has a winning attitude and plenty of experience.
The Dogs have also signed 18-year-old forward Rory Court from Noral, Manitoba.
He has played the past 3 seasons with the Winnipeg Thrashers “AAA” team and is a Telus Cup champion.
Court is 5’10, 175.
The Junior hockey club is also welcoming back a number of familiar faces.
The Dogs have announced the re-signing of Tyson Holder, Jesse Linner, Bryden Izzard, Ryan Wilgosh as well as local stars Kim Wildhaber and Jared Stratford.
Brad Boyko says he’s received verbal confirmation with most of the eligible returning players.
Training camp is two weeks away.
