For the first time all season, the Thief River Falls Norskies aren’t number one in the SIJHL standings.
The Dryden GM Ice Dogs moved into first place and now control their own destiny in a convincing 5-0 win over the Norskies Saturday night.
It was the third shutout in four games for Dryden GM at thhe Ralph Englstad Arena.
Evan Walls, Jacen Bracko, Brendan Jay, Dakota Woods and Ted Davis scored for the Ice Dogs.
Landon Pavlisin was quiet but made 24-saves for the shutout.
The Norskies only recorded 11-shots in five-on-five hockey.
The Dryden GM win was the sixth victory in a row against the Norskies.
They are back in action Sunday night in Hoyt Lakes against the Iron Rangers.
Meantime, Nic Herringer scored twice, Jacob Siebenga, Ryan Patterson and Sam Cirone added singles as the English River Miners defeated Minnesota 5-2.
Michael Lenko stopped 22-shots for the win.
