Ice Dogs Outlast Miners

In a game that was full of momentum changes, the Dryden GM Ice Dogs came out on top in a 4-3 battle with the English River Miners Tuesday.

Braeden Allkins scored the winning goal with 1:30 remaining in regulation, his second of the game and 52nd of the season.

Braedyn Aubin scored in the first, while Tristan Knott tied the game in the third with a power play goal.

Austin Kuhn led the Miners attack with a pair of goals, while Jamie Driedger also scored.

Shots were even at 39, with Ben Dennis finishing the regular season without a regulation loss.

Michael Lenko suffered the loss.

With the loss and a Thunder Bay overtime win Tuesday, the Miners hopes for second are now dashed.

They remain one point ahead of fourth place Thief River Falls, with both teams having two games left to play.

Dryden GM has now won 11 straight and they will end the season Friday in Fort Frances.
