Another barn burner for tt.he Dryden GM Ice Dogs, while the English River Miners come knocking on the door once again.
For the second time in as many games, the Thunder Bay North Stars and the Dryden GM Ice Dogs went to a shoot-out and this time the Ice Dogs pulled out the victory.
Dryden defeated Thunder Bay 4-3 thanks to Blake Berg’s goal in the shoot-out.
Cole Golka scored twice in regulation, while Chris Sitko added a single.
Tate Sproxton made 36 saves for the victory.
The game featured 3 short-handed goals, while the Ice Dogs were 10-10 on the penalty kill.
In Ear Falls, the Fort Frances Lakers exploded for four unanswered third period goals to pull out an 8-4 victory over English River
Kirk Coopock led the way for the Miners with a pair of goals, while Ryker Moreau and Eric Champagne added singles.
Greg Harney suffered the loss.
Dryden and English River meet Saturday night at the Memorial Arena starting at 7:30.
