The Dryden Ice Dogs appeal to leave the Superior International Junior
Hockey League to join the Manitoba League will be heard Saturday morning
in Thunder Bay.
An Ice Dog Official will meet with the 3 member Panel at 10:00 local
time and the Appeal Board will have 3-days to make a ruling.
Earlier this month, Hockey Northwestern Ontario determined Dryden
couldn’t leave.
The MJHL has stated that they won’t accept any expansion team until
the issue is sorted out.
If the appeal is turned down, Dryden still intends to stay with the
SIJHL, but Officials warn that they don’t know how they will operate
financially under the current formula.
