Ice Dogs Run Into Hot Goalie in Loss

A short-handed Dryden Ice Dogs squad did everything possible to beat Tyer Ampe but the Fort Frances goalie had almost every answer as the Fort Frances Lakers held on to beat Dryden 5-3 Tuesday night at the Ice for Kids Arena.

Fort Frances carried a 2-0 lead into the third period when the Lakers ran into penalty trouble.

Len Pelletier, Thomas Greene and Josh Reid all scored power-play goals, but Fort Frances replied with two 4-4 goals and a short-handed marker.

Ampe finished with 34 high quality saves.

Brett Timmerman also made 34-saves for the Dogs.

The same two teams are back at it Thursday at the Dryden Memorial Arena.

Game time is 7:30.

Notes: Josh Reid scored his first SIJHL Goal.

Ryan Lobreau and Jesse Linner extended their consecutive point streak to 10 and 13 games respectively.
