A member of the Dryden GM Ice Dogs is getting a chance to be a part of rebuilding efforts in Humboldt.
The Ice Dogs have traded defenceman Joseph Santalucia to the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey team.
Santalucia says the Broncos coaching staff has told him that he will be a top four defenceman.
The Burnaby, B.C. native will be a part of a team that will try and recover from last season’s tragic bus crash.
The 18-year-old played in 39-games with the Dryden GM last season and recorded 2-goals and 10-assists.
He shared the team year end award for Most Improved Player with Ted Davis.
Meantime, the Ice Dogs have traded defenceman Carson Lux to the LaRonge Ice Wolves of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League.
Dryden GM receives the playing rights of Marco Mazza and Dawson Boehm in return.
Mazza is a 19-year-old from Winnipeg.
The 5’10, 154-pound forward split time with Virden and Wayway last year in Manitoba and recorded 7-goals and 13-assists in 28-games.
Boehm is a 6’3, 185-pound defenceman from Martensville, Saskatchewan.
The 19-year-old played 52-games with La Ronge last season and amassed 3-goals, 7-assists and 140 penalty minutes.
