Special teams were the name of the game as the Dryden Ice Dogs fell 4-3 to the Tunder Bay Bearcats Saturday night at home. Each team notched three power play goals before an off-ice incident sparked the Bearcats to a winning goal with 2 and a half minutes left in the game. With the dogs in control for most of the third period a Bearcat player ejected from the game headed for fans behind the Ice Dogs bench sending an security person flying. Less than a minute later Thunder Bay scored the winner. Red Lake’s Cody Jeffries scored twice for Dryden while Clayton Weppler added a single. Graeme Harrington faced 26 shots in the loss. The Ice Dogs will now get a week off before heading for marathon for a 2 game set.
