Ice Dogs Stumble In Thunder Bay; Miners Win

Nothing was working for the Dryden GM Ice Dogs Friday night in a matchup of what was supposed to be the two hottest teams in the SIJHL.

The North Stars humbled Dryden GM 7-3.

Jacen Bracko extended his league best point streak to 16-games for the Ice Dogs, while Kris Hamlin and Eric Stout also scored.

However, Thunder Bay capitalized on their chances to win their ninth straight.

In Hoyt Lakes, Jacob Siebenga and Spencer Milne scored and Westin Cardwell stopped 25 shots as the English River Miners defeated Minnesota 2-0.

Thief River Falls downed Fort Frances 6-2 to move five points ahead of the Ice Dogs for first.
